7 Gifts for the Anxious Mom under $20

Mother's Day is around the corner which got me thinking about what I'd like to do, what I'd like to receive, and what I'd like to give and before I knew it, I was anxious. Thus, here is a list of mother's day gifts for the anxious mama. They're also all under $20 for those on a budget and available on Amazon Prime for the last minute shopper. (That's me!)

1. Chamomile tea
I drink chamomile tea like it's going out of style. My favorite way to drink it is actually iced- I just brew it and pour it over a ton of ice cubes. It's not only refreshing but I also feel like I'm being proactive with my anxiety by reaching for a cup of chamomile tea instead of another cup of coffee. We use this tea for kiddo tea parties, too.

Give me all the lavender everything! And also all the baths. One of my favorite things to do is drink my morning cup of coffee in a lavender bath. I don't usually have a ton of time for this, but even ten minutes is worth it. This is quick self-care, too.

I have been reading The Power of a Praying Wife for over a year and it gives me so much peace. I think a lot of moms feel stress around their relationships with their children (hello #momguilt), at least I know I do. These books are written in a way that makes praying for others easy and stress-free. After you read the introduction, you can read a chapter a day and each chapter is centered around one main idea and includes a prayer and bible verses. Every time I read a chapter, I am blown away at how insightful it is and how much peace follows.

This has been my favorite candle for over 10 years. The wonderfully delightful and light scent lifts up my home in such a peaceful way. I would be sad about receiving 10 of these at one time. I'd just put one in each room and keep some backups.

I bought these scripture cards with the intent of sending them to people I love, which I have. But I also have placed them in my wallet, in my classroom, on the fridge, and in various other places I know I'll come across them when I need to be reminded of God's truth.

Add it to your bath, your pressure points, or your favorite oil for a relaxing all over lotion. Sometimes I just smell it. These simple acts remind me that I'm actively pursuing peace- It's a way for me to take action when I feel powerless.

Everyone and their mother (see what I did there?) is talking about hustling and how to accomplish more in a day and I'm over here stressing out about going against the norm and seeking peace. The goal of this journal is to help us find peace and contentment and shouldn't take more than a few minutes each day. Moms are busy and we sometimes need a little something that helps us feel accomplished. Boom! Here it is.

    1. I am literally giddy about this! I don't know why I didn't tell you about these things sooner, ya know? Dreaming here, but I'd love to get a group of ladies together to pray through one of these books and encourage one another along the way. After you get a taste for the book, let me know your thoughts. XOXO Lindsey

  2. These are great ideas! I'm not a mom, but I could use some lavender bubble bath and chamomile tea for myself also.

    1. Kait, you're so right! I think we all can. I like the brand of bubble bath and bath salts because I can get it even when I feel like our budget is tight...plus it smells amazing. Thanks for reminding me that we can all use some self care, mom or not. XOXO Lindsey

    1. Crystal, I was so focused on the mom aspect of this for Mother's Day that I forgot about women in general. These cards are so encouraging! I especially love them when I'm not sure what to write in a card to a friend or something. I just pray over them and ask God to reveal the right one to me. If you get them, let me know what you think. They're business card size, which is just about perfect for anything. Thanks for reading. XOXO Lindsey
