My 100 Day Pregnancy Challenge: Update #2

This is where I'm at: exhausted. I barely wake up with enough time to get to work on time and we went an entire week trying to figure out what to eat because I never made it to the grocery store. So, honestly, I'm not doing the best with all of the aspects of this challenge, but I'm choosing to be optimistic by focusing on what I am doing well.

Here is where I'm at 20 days before my due date...

Washing & moisturizing my face is going so well! I've got this down. I feel gross if I try to leave the house or go to bed without going through this process. I use this facewash, I toggle between this toner and this toner, I use this AM moisturizer and this PM moisturizer

Walking is kind of hit or miss but it is better than it was when I started. We went to the farmer's market the other day & I was happy that we parked the car far away because I try to keep the mindset of walking when I can. It's not comfortable but I'm doing it anyway.

Eating veggies is hard when I have no desire to shop or cook but my AM smoothie makes it easier. I also figured out a way to hide a lot of veggies in my chili, which has been great. I take a large can of diced tomatoes with its juices & blend it with chopped bell peppers & zucchini. I'm sure adding other veggies like cauliflower or carrots would work great too. I throw all of the ingredients together in my pressure cooker & it's ready to go after about 25 minutes. Since we started eating out again, I have tried to add veggies to whatever I order or actually just order a salad.

Drinking water is tough, especially when I have have to pee every second but I carry around a water bottle almost everywhere I go, which automatically makes me drink more. I also love sparkling water, right now. I probably have one or two cans a day. This is my favorite brand. They're so refreshing & a great break from plain water. We also just go these delicious tangelos that I've been dropping in my water to encourage me to drink more.

Everything else has kind of dropped off in the past 2 weeks. I was waking up 30-60 minutes early each day to write my gratitude list, read my bible, pray, etc. but waking up is basically the biggest obstacle these days. I do pray throughout the day & my gratitude lists naturally happen during this time but it isn't as intentional as I'd like. I'm showing myself grace here because I know that in a few weeks when this baby boy is in my arms, an AM routine will be nonexistent. I'm prepping for survival mode & being ok with it. Me being a stress ball is in no way helpful for anyone.

I'm not sad about the results of this challenge. No one is perfect & I have made positive changes. That's a win! I will continue to work on these things as I near the end of this pregnancy & as I venture into postpartum & beyond. I'm guessing my next pregnancy update will be a birth announcement & I'm not a little sad about it.

How would you feel about not doing a challenge like this perfectly? Do you have experience with setting personal goals/challenges? What are your tips? What is your experience?

  1. How exciting that you are so close to your due date! It sounds like you've done a really good job with the challenge and make positive changes. It's okay if you don't do everything perfect, as long as you make some progress.
